1. Getting Compassly

There are two ways you can access Compassly; by installing the mobile application or accessing through your web browser. You can use whichever is most useful – you may prefer to complete / mark the theory sections passport on a web browser, but carry out the practical assessments on your phone. All progress can be saved to the cloud and picked up later, including on another device.

Mobile application

Compassly is available on the iOS App Store (for iPhones and iPads) or Google Play (for Android phones and tablets).

You can access it through these links, or by scanning the relevant code on your device:

iPhone

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/compassly-competency-passport/id1558081181

Android

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tefogo.compassly

Failing all the above, just search for “Compassly” on the App Store / Google Play.

The app is very small and, so it should not have any significant impact on your device storage. It also uses very little data, so it shouldn’t use up much mobile data or require fast Wi-Fi.

Security of devices

Compassly has built-in security protection against mobile devices that have lower device security and will not run on such devices. You may hit a “jailbroken” or “rooted device” warning. It is rare to get this warning, but if you do then please contact us.  The only devices we know are consistently impacted are Huawei phones, which are now broadly considered a security concern.

Web browser

You can also access Compassly directly through your web browser:

Notes on the web browser:

  • Compassly should work on all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), but we recommend using the latest version of Chrome for best performance. It will not work on Internet Explorer, and some compatibility issues have been reported with Edge..
  • Note that there are some inherent limitations to the web browser, such as biometric login.
  • To allow Compassly to run fully in the web browser, we are using some very new Google technology, so there may be occasional features or glitches beyond our control – for example we cannot currently support spell checking. Please still report these to us if you come across them.
